AbstractIn this lecture, he will overview the potential applications of terahertz (THz) technologies, with a special focus on THz wireless communications enabled by photonics. Ever increasing demands on instant fast wireless access motivates the researchers all over the world to explore extremely large bandwidth available in the THz band, and indeed a rapid progress has been recently made in developing ultrahigh speed THz wireless communication systems. He will present the state-of-the-art of THz communications, their recent excellent achievements on energy efficient wireless transmission in the 300-500GHz with beyond 100Gbit/s, as well as the review of technical challenges for driving the further developments of this field.

内容摘要:在本次讲座中,余博士将概述太赫兹(THz)技术的潜在应用,特别是聚焦在光子学实现太赫兹无线通信的领域。随着对实时高速无线接入需求日益增长,世界各国的研究人员竭尽全力对太赫兹频段中现存大带宽的挖掘。确实,近年来学者们在超高速太赫兹无线通信系统上取得了迅速的发展。余老师会介绍太赫兹通信的最新进展,他们最新优秀成果——实现在300-500GHz频段超过100Gbps的高能效无线通信, 以及综述驱动这个领域未来发展的技术挑战。

 

BiographyDr. Xianbin Yu is currently a senior expert at Zhejiang Lab and a research professor in the College of Information Science and Electronic Engineering at Zhejiang University. He received his PhD degree in 2005 from Zhejiang University in China. From 2005 to 2007, he was a postdoctoral research fellow in Tsinghua University, China. Since 2007 until 2016, he was employed at DTU Fotonik of Technical University of Denmark in Denmark, where he became an assistant professor in 2009 and was promoted to be a tenured Senior Researcher in 2013. He has given 30+ keynote/invited talks in prestigious international conferences within the area of optical communications and RF photonics technologies, and has (co-)authored 3 book chapters and 200+ peer-reviewed international journal and conference papers. He has served as a session chair/TPC member for a number of international conferences. He held a Marie Curie Fellowship within the 7th European Community Framework Program and a Hans Christian Ørsteds Fellowship in Denmark.

His current research interests are in the areas of ultrafast millimeter-wave/THz photonic information processing, photonic wireless communication systems, as well as emerging new applications of millimeter-wave/THz technologies, etc.

个人简介:余显斌博士是之江实验室资深专家和浙江大学信息科学与电子工程学院研究教授。2005年获得浙大博士学位,2005-2007年在清华大学从事博士后研究。2007-2016年受聘于丹麦技术大学光学工程学院从事博士后研究,并于2009年获聘助理教授,2013年晋升终身高级研究员。他在光通信和无线光子技术领域的知名国际会议中做超过30多次主题或受邀演讲,(合)著有3章节书籍,以及发表超过200篇的国际期刊和会议论文。余博士曾承担了多个国际会议的分会主持人和大会技术委员会成员。他曾获第7届欧共体构架计划的玛丽居里奖学金和丹麦的Hans Christian Ørsteds奖学金。

余博士目前的研究领域包含超高速毫米波/太赫兹光子信息处理、光子无线通信系统以及毫米波/太赫兹技术的新兴应用等。
